40 Week Dr. Visit

Well, I went to the Dr. today and I'm still not dilating. She said he doesn't look to be too big so she is inducing me Monday the 26th at 8PM and said it could take as many as 3-4 days (yeah, that sounds like fun). If I can hold out long enough in the hospital I can avoid c-section if that's what I want (yes I do). Hopefully I'll go into labor before then, but my overdoing it has not helped to start things. I'm hoping the meds they give me will work to kick start things and it won't be a 3 day event.

Needless to say, I'm one ticked off pregnant lady...so if I'm rude to anyone I'll go ahead and apologize in advance. I'm going to sulk and feel sorry for myself so don't try to make me feel better because that will just tick me off more. Please don't tell me how to get labor started, either - I know all those old wives tales and have tried them all. Love you all! I promise the nice version of me will return someday...until then, I'm sorry.

39 Week Appointment

Today I had my 39 week Dr. appt and I'm still not progressing. DANGIT! She didn't want to schedule induction for Monday the 19th unless I had dilated already b/c it could be a 2-3 day process (which I def. don't want). She did an ultrasound to see how big he was and he was stubborn and would not show his face. He showed his man-parts though! He's measuring about 7 pounds 3 ounces, which could be off a pound either way. I'll go back on Tuesday the 21st and if I still have not made progress she'll schedule my induction.

38 Week Dr. Visit

We had our 38 week visit this past Friday and alas, I am 1 CM dilated. Woo. Oh well, better than nothing. My next visit is Wednesday the 14th and we'll talk about induction. She'll probably schedule me for Monday the 19th if I haven't had him before then since Mondays are her days she likes to schedule inductions. She said she'd let me go a week overdue but I told her the idea of that does not thrill me. So, we'll see....until then I'll just keep moving.

I've cleaned the house top to bottom and washed all the cloth diapers this weekend so I think we are completely ready. I'll put a post on here about them sometime soon - they are super cool and cute. Hopefully they'll work great for us. You can check them out at http://www.rockymountaindiapers.com/.  All we need now is the car seat to be installed which Mike is doing this week sometime. Keep your fingers crossed that the new moon on Wednesday makes something happen!

36 Week Dr. Visit

We had our 36 week checkup today, which went well. My blood pressure was excellent, which was surprising to me because I've been so stressed at work. They checked me today and I'm not dilated at all so I'm going to have to start walking and hope that moves things along. I've not had contractions yet so it was what I expected, but I'm now ready to be done. My back is killing me and EVERYTHING is irritating to me. On the other hand, I'm in the middle of closing a huge year at work and am glad that he's not coming too early because I need at least a couple more weeks to get everything done. It will definitely be great to be off work for 12 weeks!

Jasper's Nursery

We are finally almost done with the nursery! We have a few more things to add for the final touches and some more organizing to do. I'm painting canvas letters for Jasper's name to hang above the crib, but I figured I'd go ahead and add pics for everyone to see. As you can see, we've had to give some stuffed animals a home in the glider to keep our cat out of it. He tried to make it his bed the day we put the room together.

Baby Shower

This past weekend was the baby shower for Jasper that a bunch of friends and family threw for me. It was so nice to see everyone that I hadn't seen in a while and get together for an exciting event! Jasper got lots of good stuff and we pretty much have everything we need except for our cloth diapers, which my grandparents are giving us as a gift. We got our swing, pack'n'play, and high chair, as well as lots of cute clothes and necessities for feeding, bathing, etc. Thanks to everyone who helped throw the shower and make this a special day!!!

Jasper got his first UK booties, sweatsuit, and Wildcat Blankie - he is all set for football season! Mike was so excited to get some UK gear for him.
Here is the cute-as-can-be cake that my friend, Beth, made for me. It matches our "theme" bedding and room colors. She made the cookies Gluten Free especially for me, and they all turned out beautifully! Thanks Beth!
Mike's cousin, Stephanie, got us a piggie bank and painted Jasper's name and our room theme on it. SO CUTE! It is already at home on his bookshelf.
The "Swamps" - Amy and Tricia.
The Adam Family - Katherine, Gail, Mom, Me, Nancy, Tracy, and Liz. It was so nice to have a lot of family at my shower!
Great friends, Sarah and Beth - I wouldn't make it through this pregnancy without their info and advice. I think I might know more than I might want to know. All I know is I found out that catheters scare me more than giving birth!!
My long lost girl, Holly, came down from the Cardinal's nest to scope out Wildcat country. It was so nice of her to make the trip!

34 Weeks!

Here I am, in all my glory...34 weeks pregnant! I still don't think I can get any bigger, but I guess it will happen whether I think it can or not. No wonder people ask if I'm having twins. The thing is I haven't gained an abnormal amount of weight, but because he is so high and round he sticks out like a torpedo - making me look huge!

We had our Dr. appointment on Monday and she said everything looked good and he seemed to be about 5.5 pounds so far. His heart sounds good, my blood pressure was good, and swelling was not too bad that day. I didn't gained weight since the previous visit so I was excited!
